Covid related meet protocol: I know that you are all awaiting info from the NVSL in regards to what meets will look like this year. Well, I'm going to need you to be patient a bit longer! ;-) The NVSL issued a guidance document, but in light of the forthcoming executive order scheduled to take effect 5/28 they plan to update it sometime before the end of May.  Once we have a final plan in place, we will email it out to everyone well before our time trials date of June 12th. Stay tuned! 

Covid Waiver: The NVSL has added an addendum to the participation waiver that you acknowledged during registration.  The regular waiver is built in to our online registration form, but the Covid waiver was late in coming and so anyone who has already registered will need to fill it out once for their swimmers in order to participate on swim team. THIS IS CRITICAL AND YOUR SWIMMER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICES UNTIL IT IS FILLED OUT. On the homepage, on the right hand side, there is a QR code for the NVSL C-19 addendum.  Please go ahead and do this ASAP.  It takes less than 1 minute. Thanks! https://herndonswims.swimtopia.com/

8u swimmers parents meeting: Calling all parents of swimmers who are 8 years old and younger, this includes all parents of swimmers participating in our minis program. We have an AMAZING group of 8u Hammerheads this year! and many of you are either new to the team and/or new members of the pool.  We want to have an information night at the pool just for you.  Please join some of your coaches and team reps at the pool on Thursday May 27th at 7:00PM.  Please note that the pool will not be fully up and running, but we would like to meet in person so that we can talk about the flow and schedule of the minis practices. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask all of your questions! Also, don't fret if you are unable to attend, we will post the notes from the meeting on the website and I am always available to have a conversation. We look forward to seeing you there! 

Pool Membership: A reminder that it is an NVSL rule that all swimmers must be members of their home pool.  If you have not joined the pool yet for the season, please do so.  You must be a member in good standing in order for your swimmers to attend practice. http://herndonswims.com/membership/

Team Suits- We recommend the team suits for all swimmers, especially those on the competitive team participating in meets. We recommend them for our Mini-hammerheads as well because they will be able to get used to wearing a competition style suit, they will get to wear the same suit as the "big kids", and truly, they may be participating in meets before you know it! Suits are for sale at Cassels.  They will determine your child's size in the store and help you place the order.  Just let them know you are with the Hammerheads! If you have any questions about suits, please feel free to ask me. 

Spirit Wear- Spirit wear is for sale on our website now, under the "store" tab https://herndonswims.swimtopia.com/shop These items are what our swimmers typically wear over their suits to meets to show their team spirit.  Parents wear them too! Place your order before it is too late, the team store will be closing soon- most likely Monday.
